Final Pre-Election Council Meeting 'Lively' |

A week in the life of a local councillor in Chiswick
Cllr Sam Hearn who represents the Riverside ward in Chiswick, is chairman of the Chiswick Area Forum. He has written this account of his week as a busy local councillor Week ending Friday 27th March 2015 This weekly diary will not be published during the official election campaign period. It will however be resumed on May 8th. The Council has scheduled very few formal meetings during this period acknowledging the fact that elected members will be heavily engaged in various party political activities. However, along with all my councillor colleagues, I am as always happy to respond to enquiries and requests from residents and to help in any way that I can. The last Borough Council Meeting before the General Election was a lively affair with discussions extending until 11.00pm. Issues discussed ranged from the repayment of the parking finances illegally charged in Chiswick House Car Park to the state of the NHS locally. At the third attempt there was a discussion of the Labour Party’s proposal to introduce a Mansion Tax. March 27, 2015
