The Picturehouse cinema group, which is proposing a multiscreen cinema for Chiswick High Road, has said it is willing to adjust its bar opening hours to close earlier than originally planned.

The group, which has taken over the former Rambert Dance Company premises had planned a late-night bar opening until 1.30 am at weekends.

Last week, the Chiswick High Road Action Group said it was concerned that this would be "inappropriate and unreasonable" in that location and was concerned about the impact of noise on residents.

Spokesman Jon Barrenechea for Picturehouse said; "We've decided to adjust our opening times to midnight for the bar, based on discussions with local residents and community groups. We want to make sure that the cinema is welcome and is an asset to the community, which is why we are working closely with Chiswick residents throughout this initial stage.

The CHRAG group suggested last week that an earlier closing time, for example 23.30 hours during week nights and midnight on Friday and Saturday, would be more acceptable. The group notes that the Riverside Studios in Hammersmith has the following closing times: Monday to Saturday, 23.00 and Sunday, 22.30.
