Chiswick's First Pug Cafe Cancelled |

Party for pooches was scheduled to be held at Outsider Tart
Chiswick has strong associations with William Hogarth and his pug dog Trump, both of whom are immortalised in the statue on Chiswick High Road. So what better place to hold the city's first pop up Pug party than W4? The dogs and their owners meet to enjoy a chat and some treats, including a 'puggachino' for the pets. But the first such party in west London, which was due to be held at Outsider Tart on Chiswick High Road next month has been cancelled. The organiser, dog lover, Anushka Fernando, has been using her passion for pets to bring pug lovers together. She lives in Guildford with her pug Bertie and organised the first pop-up in May near her home, with another held in Brighton last month. A spokesman for Outsider Tart, said "We weren’t able to go ahead with the Pug Café as it wasn’t feasible for us to do it on a Saturday (their desired day). It would have meant closing to all other customers and we didn’t want to disappoint regulars on such a busy day. We’re still very much a dog friendly venue - all dogs, not just pugs! We'll give them a warm welcome and some delicious home baked treats when they pop in." The Pug Café has now been rescheduled for Saturday September 9th at The Book Club in Shoreditch and tickets (£5 for pug owners) go on sale on August 19th. August 11, 2017 |
