The main Chiswick Post Office in Heathfield Terrace has reopened to the public. The branch had been closed due to concerns for staff with underlying health conditions due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

A Post Office spokesperson, said: “We are delighted to announce that Chiswick Post Office re-opened on 30 April. The branch had been temporarily closed due to staffing issues caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The revised opening hours are Monday to Friday: 9am – 5.30pm. The same wide range of Post Office services are available as before. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure and we are pleased to have been able to re-open the branch as we know how important these Post Office services are to a community.”

There had been local reports that a member of staff displayed symptoms of the coronavirus.

It closed, along with the branch in Strand on the Green on 1 April.

The latter remains closed at this point due to concerns about the health postmistress Mrs Joshi.

Her son Milan said, “My mum sends her apologies for the inconvenience and thanks all for their patience. Whilst she's keen to open again as soon as, I'm afraid the risks are still too great at the moment, especially with her lung condition and uncertainty with other post offices in the area.”
