Three local artists display work that lifts the spirits
This Spring Pop-up Studio event celebrates these moments with an uplifting collection of work form three local artists who all create work that will raise your mood. Alice Sheridan takes inspiration from the landscape but her paintings become a personal progression away from a literal representation towards a more free interpretation of the world around us. After a long spell working with printmaking techniques this collection of paintings is a return to the playfulness and sheer joy in colour and marks. Jodie Glen-Martin works from her West London studio, Jodie focuses on familiar objects, capturing elements of their two dimensional form and experimenting with scale and repetition to create energetic discordant patterns. She works principally in acrylics and metal leaf on canvas, using detailed brushwork and gilding. Despite this use of traditional techniques, her work is deliberately anti-nostalgic using box-fresh colours and graphic clarity suggesting manufactured uniformity. Louise Richards works with precious metals and specialises in enamels to create unique pieces of jewellery and artwork. She is influenced by the world around her drawing from her delight of botanical and natural forms. The Enamel gives vibrancy to the pieces and she plays with different textures and finishes to create movement and depth and to inspire the imagination. With small block paintings, larger paintings, limited edition prints and unique jewellery this is a relaxed and welcoming chance to meet the artists and browse some exciting artwork in a relaxed home atmosphere. All welcome. Friday 13 March 6-9pm 3 St Albans Avenue W4 5LL
