Chiswick resident Pauline Hart was amongst a group of Londoners chosen to have lunch with the Queen and Prince Philip to acknowledge her work in the community.

Pauline has organised the Pensioners Alone At Christmas lunch for 27 years and has been active in organising many events for the elderly.

The lunch, for 300 community volunteers, was held in Mitcham this week and Pauline said she felt very honoured to be chosen- she was the only person from Chiswick present.

“The Queen looked lovely, she was smiling and while I didn’t get a chance to talk to her, I did speak briefly to Prince Philip as he came in.”

“It was a wonderful occasion and what was lovely was to meet people who have all done special things in their community. It was a great honour to be in the same room as royalty.”

Pauline, who was accompanied by the Mayor of Hounslow, was presented with a glass trophy as a momento of the occasion, to acknowledge that she has attended a Royal Diamond Jubilee function.
