Great Turnout For The First Dukes Meadows parkrun Meetup

Enthusiastic crowd gathers to walk the proposed course

The parkrun meet up founder members Ben and Felicity Fowler and Kathleen Healy from Dukes Meadows Trust were delighted by the enthusiastic crowd that attended the first parkrun planning event on Saturday, to walk the proposed course and start getting to know each other.

The group has been allocated an ambassador by parkrun, who is assisting with gaining the required permissions, approving a course and helping volunteers gain the skills to run the events. Ben and Felicity said, “the support from parkrun has been fantastic and gives us confidence that we can set up a really great, well run event. We are also grateful to Dukes meadows Trust, for its support and offer of ongoing help with the events”

The volunteers plan to attend other parkrun events to run and volunteer, so they can build their skills and knowledge and get to know each other.
