Oxjam At The George IV |

A day of music and fun, in aid of charity
This year's fundraising Oxjam event will take place in The George IV pub on Chiswick High Road on 25 October. This will be a free day event, run entirely by volunteers, and all proceeds will go directly to Oxfam’s work. The evening event will be a ticketed affair. The organisers say it will be a family event in the heart of Chiswick, open to anyone who'd like to enjoy a nice Sunday roast, drinks and original acoustic acts playing throughout the day from 12 - 11.30p.m. Activities will include raffles, quizzes, and music games, all accompanied by some wonderful acoustic music from local acts. OXFAM's Oxjam is a month-long music festival that helps raising money for OXFAM to combat poverty and suffering in the world. It runs all through October with hundreds of events around the UK. Since the first Oxjam in 2006, more than 55,000 musicians have played to over 1.35 million people at around 5,100 Oxjam events nationwide. This year's event in Chiswick was cancelled so the George IV decided to host its own fundraiser for the charity. The highlight of the day will be an evening performance by MI'DAS which will take place in the art deco atmosphere of The Boston Room at The George IV. Free entry all day and night for front of pub.
