Huge Success for NHS Fundraiser Virtual Hilarity |
Consider It Done organised event raises over £4000 An online virtual party called Virtual Hilarity held last Saturday (2 May) to raise funds for the NHS proved to be a huge success. There were 165 connections on the night, and it is estimated that well over 400 people were watching live because there were lots of families with 2, 3 and 4 adults and children behind each screen. The Chiswick-based organisers, Consider it Done, think that may be some sort of record for an event of this kind. And through ticket sales, silent auction bids and song requests, the evening raised a net grand total of £4490.32 going straight to NHS Charities Together to support the remarkable work that NHS Staff and volunteers are doing to look after us and our loved ones right now. Roisin Mooney from the charity, said “On behalf of everyone here at NHS Charities Together, thank you so much. We would not be able to help the amazing NHS staff and volunteers without the staggering generosity of people like you.” A spokesperson for Consider it Done said, “The list of thank yous is long: from Dr Zoe and Sir Simon Wesley for their kind words; Sharky & George who had us all doing very silly things; Master of Magic Peter Mehtab who dazzled us with mind-blowing close up tricks; Joe Stilgoe who brilliantly performed our favourite songs from his garden shed, and of course the unbelievable Tom Durant-Pritchard, our fabulous compere who kept the show on the road – and had more than a little bit to do with the unbelievable amount raised through the Silent Auction. All of them gave their time and talents with their compliments.” There were also thanks for the many business and individuals who donated prizes. Since the coronavirus outbreak Consider it Done have brought together the best of their contacts and expertise to offer a series of safe, private and custom-made online virtual parties. May 10, 2020 |
