New Sofa Shop To Open In Former Calligaris

Sofa Brands International will be ready later in the summer

The former Calligaris premises on Chiswick High Road will become a sofa shop called Sofa Brands International (SBI).

A spokesperson for the firm, which says it is the UK's leading branded sofa group confirmed it was opening a new shop in Chiswick. He said they would be offering something "special" and the store would sell "great modern sofas."

A refurbishment of the premises, which has a basement and ground floor display area, is currently underway and the shop is not expected to be ready for several weeks.

SBI custom makes sofas and chairs through the brands: G Plan, Parker Knoll and Duresta and was formed in 2005 to acquire the three brands and sell them directly- they also export sofas overseas and have three manufacturing plants in the UK and one in Lithuania. Some of the range is available in furniture stores such as John Lewis, and Furniture Village. The group employs 1100 people.

Our sofas and chairs are available in over 600 retail outlets throughout the UK and we distribute our luxury Duresta brand internationally."

SBI sold over 125,000 sofas and chairs in 2014 and for the 2015 financial year, SBI reported sales revenue of £91 million.
