Melbury's To Close After Seventeen Years

The luxury bed and bathroom shop bids goodbye to TGT

Another independent shop is to close in Chiswick. The owner of Melbury's, the luxury bed and bathroom accessories shop in Turnham Green Terrace has confirmed that the business is to close.

Mel Lennon said he was "very sad" to be leaving the shop and many loyal customers had been very distressed on hearing the news.

"It's time for me to take up another challenge now after seventeen years here. Times are changing too and there is more online shopping. But we've had many loyal customers and I've made great friends," says Mel, who will continue to live in Chiswick.

He intends to return to his previous career in the travel industry.

Melbury's was modelled on the American style for luxury bath and bedroom accessories and also sold a range of gifts.

It is not known when the shop will close.
