Masonic Influences In Lord Burlington's Garden Designs |

A tour of Chiswick House gardens will reveal the hidden symbols
Join architectural historian Ricky Pound on this rarely presented tour on the 8 October at 2.30pm where he examines the various Masonic influences that underpin the garden design at Chiswick House. Here Lord Burlington, with the aid of William Kent & Alexander Pope, incorporated Masonic elements into the garden which would have been recognised and understood by other Freemasons of the 18th century. The tour will illustrate that much of the symbolism employed at Chiswick, evident in temples, statutes, trees and plants, were derived from the central edifice of Freemasonry: that of Solomon’s Temple.
