Andy Murray will run as an independent candidate
Well known Chiswick resident Andy Murray is standing as an independent candidate for the Chiswick Riverside ward in next month's local election - voting takes place on May 22nd. Andy is a well known resident of Grove Park and has lived in Chiswick for over twenty years. He has been chairman of the GPG (Grove Park Group) for the last three years and he will be campaigning on local issues, such as the controversial new street lights and paving in the area, crime, and all matters affecting residents in the Riverside area. Andy will be up against the three current Riverside Conservative Party candidates, three Green Party candidates, a Liberal Democrat and three candidates from the Labour Party. In his election manifesto he notes that while Riverside has traditionally been a quiet area, "the modern world is about to encroach" including the huge football stadium and development near Kew Bridge, as well as increased activity in Chiswick Park, and the Council's plans for Dukes Meadows.
