Lib Dems say their Euro Election canvass reveals fears of residents
Local Liberal Democrats say that local voters have told them that some companies have moved staff from London to Europe already, making uncertainties more likely in many sectors about Brexit. On Sunday 12th May, Liberal Democrat European election candidates and supporters converged on Southfield ward and delivered the whole area as well as speaking to many hundreds of residents to discuss Brexit. Local Liberal Democrats were told that some residents' companies have moved staff from London to Europe making uncertainties more likely in many sectors. One resident commented about the shortages of some items in shops that used to be present in volume, casting doubts on how the government has dealt with the issue of Brexit. Helen Cross, Chiswick resident and a London Liberal Democrat candidate in the European elections, said: "Liberal Democrats are the main party who want us to stay in the EU. On the doorstep a large number of voters who used to vote Conservative or Labour, have said in this election they are switching to the Liberal Democrats as remaining in the EU is the most important thing affecting them and their family. I urge people to vote on 23rd May and to vote Liberal Democrat to send a clear signal to the Prime Minister that Brexit is wrong for our country." May 14, 2019 |
