Sociable choir based in Chiswick particularly wants tenors and basses
If you are looking to join a choir this term, then Hogarth Singers would like you to give them a try. They describe themselves as a friendly, sociable choir based in Chiswick and they would love to welcome new members. New tenors and basses are especially welcome, and the choir offers a special subscription rate of £10 per term for any new singers under 25. Hogarth Singers rehearse every Monday, 7.30-9.30pm, at their concert venue St Michael and All Angels Church on Bath Road (W4 1TT). Rehearsals this term start on Monday 10 January leading to a Spring concert on 19 March. The programme includes Mendelssohn’s Aus tiefe Not schrei’ich zu dir and Haydn‘s Missa in Honorem Sanctae Ursulae. Hogarth Singers evolved from a choir set up in IBM called The Meistersingers in the early 1980s. It is a registered charity with the intention of promoting a love of choral music and developing public education in the art and science of music in all its aspects by presenting public concerts and recitals. Membership ranges between 50 – 60 people and they sing a wide range of choral music, both sacred and secular. They sing three concerts each year but also organise other activities which enable the choir to sing in a new setting and to enjoy some more sociable experiences not always involving singing. Further information is available from the choir's web site or by calling 07747 490422. They also have a Facebook page
