Christmas At Hogarth's House |

They need your old or antique decorations
Hogarth's House will open a new exhibition later this month exploring the changing face of seasonal festivities. From celebrations, decorations and presents to the food that was eaten, learn how Eighteenth Century Christmas is almost unrecognisable from the Victorian and modern celebrations that followed as we offer the chance to see 300 years of Christmases at Hogarth’s House. This year Hogarth's House needs the help of the public. Part of this exhibition will explore the history of the Christmas tree, how it was decorated and decorations in general. They will have their own tree on display and would like locals to help decorate it! So, If you have an old, antique or interesting decoration they would like to put it on their tree to show the range of decorations people have used over time. They will give consideration to anything you have to offer at anytime between now and December 20th. Anything lent will be safely behind glass and returned to you after the exhibition ends. Contact Hogarth's House for more information or bring along what you would like.
