A popular Chiswick youth and community centre is advertising for new Trustees to help it continue to serve the local area.

The Hogarth Centre, in Duke Road, Chiswick, hosts numerous clubs and activities ranging from dance classes to table tennis and martial arts to a cafe.

It also works in partnership with Hounslow Council to provide opportunities for disadvantaged young people from all parts of the borough, such as its annual summer programme which is currently underway.

This includes taking young people on a residential course where they can take part in outdoor pursuits, for example canoeing and zip-wiring – activities they might not otherwise get the opportunity to take part in.

Trustee David Bentley said: “The centre has been very successful for more than a decade with people using its facilities every day of the week.

“Most of those who do so come from the local area and therefore we want to call on the knowledge and experience of people in the borough to help us shape the direction in which we take the Centre in the coming years.”

Trustees attend six meetings per year which are typically held on a weekday evening at the centre and last two hours.

Application forms and full details can be found in the jobs and volunteers section of the Hogarth Centre website at http://hogarthtrust.org.uk/ - or by calling in at the centre’s reception.
