High Road Auctions Owner Goes into Liquidation

Turnaround specialist will operate auction business at Chiswick branch

The new owner of High Road Auctions is Mr. Sameer Mahomed, a chartered accountant and 'turnaround specialist'.

Management recently revealed that the business was being restructured and as part of that process, High Road Auctions Limited has been liquidated. The Twickenham branch has been closed.

For the moment, the brand High Road Auctions and the Chiswick saleroom will continue to function as normal, but as from now Mr. Mahomed is the sole owner of a new firm, Chiswick HRA Ltd, which was incorporated last March.

He told the Antiques Trade Gazette that he had not bought a business but had acquired the brand and a licence to use the premises as before, as an auction house."

It is understood that current staff have been invited to stay on.
