French company will take over the former premises of A-Space
French furniture company Gautier is set to move into the premises formerly occupied by A-Space on Chiswick High Road. Gautier, which has a branch in Chelsea, manufactures its products in France based in the Vendee region. The store is currently being refurbished and we have asked Gautier when they plan to open their Chiswick branch. The Gautier store in Chelsea Gautier was founded in 1960 by Patrice Gautier and his wife Annick. With the baby boom in full swing in France at that time, Patrice Gautier decided to focus on children's bedrooms- it then became a leader in the junior market and was instrumental in' novelty' beds such as 'car beds' for boys. In the 1980s they branched out into the teen market. In the 1990s the company branched out into living-room furniture. It prides itself on its eco-friendly credentials, saying it chooses raw materials with priority given to environmentally friendly ones, streamlining transport as much as possible for supply and deliver, and recycling waste wood. The company is also branching out abroad to places like Mongolia, Kenya and Algeria. September 24, 2016 |
