All ages and abilities can take part to help Cancer Research UK
The 21st annual 10K Fun Run & Walk is back and will take place on Sunday 25 June from 9.30am in support of Cancer Research UK. All funds from the event going directly to Hammersmith Hospital, part of the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Despite no longer being sponsored by Fullers the race will still start at the Griffin Brewery and the route will remain the same following the picturesque Thames path that goes over Chiswick and Hammersmith Bridges and ending back at the Griffin Brewery. Over the past 20 years, the event has raised over £1million for Cancer Research UK’s work at Hammersmith Hospital. This has helped to fund life-saving research into areas such as breast cancer and drug resistance. Stephanie Maddox, Cancer Research UK’s fundraising manager for West London said: “This brilliant event is for people of all ages and abilities, whether you are looking for a great route for a 10k or want a great day out with your family. “We are hoping that more people than ever will come down and join the fun, raising funds to help Hammersmith Hospital beat cancer sooner.” Stephanie added: “Cancer Research UK has made enormous progress in the fight against cancer and continues to do so. However, we have only been able to do this thanks to the dedication and commitment of our volunteers and supporters without whom we would not be able to fund our vital research.” Places for entry are still available, so sign up today at www.10klondonpride.org.uk.
