The idyllic gardens will play host to an open-air stage in front of which guests are encouraged to relax with a picnic and enjoy the wide range of entertainment. The first two days (Wednesday 15 June and Thursday 16 June) will see Opera in the Gardens with two performances of much-loved Opera classic, Tosca by Puccini. Described by Joseph Kerman as a “shabby little shocker,” Tosca is the timeless story of love, murder and deception with a dramatic finale that will stay with the audience long after the final curtain. The cast is made up of opera stars from companies across the UK, including award-winning lyric coloratura soprano Jassy Husk, who takes on the title role of Tosca. Also joining the cast is globally recognised tenor and Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts. In a world-first, Paul will deviate from his usual classical ballads to introduce opera to his performance. The show will open the Summer Sessions schedule, with two shows running over the evenings of Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16.
