A special event to raise money for the Chiswick RNLI is taking place at the George IV on Chiswick High Road on Tuesday 25 April at 7.30pm.

It will be a fascinating personal insight from the man responsible for the restoration of the Vulcan bomber, through its final years of enormous popularity, to its sad decommission in 2015, and hear about what's next for the Vulcan to the Sky Trust.

The legendary Vulcan XH 558 was once the UK's first line of defence against nuclear attack. The last airworthy example of the 134 Avro Vulcan delta-winged strategic nuclear bomber aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force during the Cold War.

John Sharman was a founding director of Spectrum Capital, which financed most of the British Airways fleet, organised the financing of the NATS buyout and the iconic Millennium Wheel, and was for several years a Director and then Chairman of Aer Lingus.

Tickets are £10 (plus booking fee), and you can buy them online.

There will also be a limited number of tickets on the door costing £12.

All proceeds to Chiswick RNLI. Drinks and pub food/snacks available before and after the talk.
