Returns to Turnham Green on Saturday 5th July with special guest John Humphrys
Chiswick’s best loved summer fair will be returning to Turnham Green on Saturday 5th July with loads of fun for all the family and the chance to raise much-needed funds for local Chiswick charities. Organised by the Parish of Our Lady of Grace and St Edward, the fair has become an essential part of summer for Chiswick residents, families and friends. This year the fair will be opened by local resident John Humphrys. Monsignor James Curry, of Our Lady of Grace and St Edward said, “The Summer Fair is a great way for the community and local businesses to join together to make a real difference to some very well-deserving local charities. Chiswick businesses have always been extremely generous, for which we are very grateful. We’re hoping 2008 will be a bumper year for local support to ensure the fair is the best yet.” Head to the refreshment tent for beer or Pimms, meet with friends, take a break, or just enjoy the spectacle. There's plenty to choose from including: 5 a-side Football Tournament – Starlight Steel Band – World Food – BBQ – Beer Tent – Tombola – Kids’ Corner, Face Painting, Punch and Judy Show, Coconut Shy, and lots more. More than £50,000 has been raised over the past four years for local people of all faiths. All profits from this year’s fair will be distributed to local charities including Acton Homeless Concern, Bag Books, Cedars, Parents in Touch and others.
