Old Meadonians FC hosts talk by the sports commentator
Radio 5 Sports Commentator and journalist, John Murray will be talking about his experiences of three decades in the sports media at The Duck and Ball on Riverside Drive. It is part of a series of talks organised by Old Meadonians FC and takes place on Monday 6 February at 7.30pm. All are welcome and there is no charge. The first evening in Old Meadonians FC's programme of events as party of its new Mental Health Initiative was hailed as a great success. The main speaker was Jeremy Vine and former Old Meads star Albert Adomah, who went on to play in the Premier League, represent Ghana at international level and now plays for QPR, also made an appearance. The Meads are aiming to promote better communication between their members and to create an environment where everyone who plays for them feels valued and welcome. About £600 was raised for the two charities of the evening, CALM and DEC Ukraine appeal. Chairman, Ed Glover, described the evening as "a tremendous success", adding "it couldn't have gone any better and definitely my proudest moment, so far, as Meads Chairman." The Duck & Ball is at Riverside Drive, Chiswick, (W4 2SP).
