St Michael and All Angel's Church will host an evening of 'Candlelit Chamber Music' on Saturday 25th April in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event, organised by the Chiswick Macmillan Committee, will feature prize-winning concert pianist Charmaine Dooley and will run from 7:15pm to 10pm.

Dooley, a classical performer who has played piano in some of the premier venues in this country and abroad, is due to perform a recital from her favourite genre, the German Lieder. In recent years, Dooley has won the Elisabeth Schumann Competition for German Lieder, on top of a number of other accolades. She will be accompanied by Richard Black, a versatile pianist whose work takes in both opera and the recital hall.

Tickets will cost £20 each, including canapés and a glass of wine. This year, Macmillan Chiswick has decided that money raised from the recital will go towards supporting the 'information pod' at the entrance to Hammersmith Hospital. It hopes to ensure the pod is staffed with someone able to offer practical and pastoral advice and support from Macmillan. The Committee will also continue to offer small loans to people in the local area whose lives are affected by cancer.
