An Evening With Richard and Annie Briers

Proceeds from event will go towards Macmillan Cancer Support

On Friday, 5 June 2009 the Chiswick Committee of Macmillan Cancer Support will be hosting organising an evening with Richard and Annie Briers, in Edward Latymer Theatre, Latymer Upper School, King Street.

Tickets priced at £30 includes a glass of wine and a light supper - prepared by the Committee can be obtained from Carol Woolner (020 8994 4711) or Libby Balch (020 8743 1764). All proceeds from the evening will go towards the support of Macmillan.

Richard is a well known both locally, as an actor and broadcaster and is a great raconteur. The evening promises to be lively and entertaining.

At their recent AGM Carol Woolner, Chairman of Macmillan Cancer Support Chiswick Committee, confirmed that £17,000, had been raised in 2008 by the Committee - an increase of £1,000 over last year.

The Chiswick Committee’s fundraising activities included a soup kitchen, bridge / supper evening, two tennis tournaments, the annual garden party, a golf day, coffee morning and a collection day at Tesco in Brook Green.

Additional money was raised by Ayesha de Silva – the daughter of a committee member – who did a sponsored abseil.
