A Festival of Carols from the Hogarth Singers |
||||||
Will be joined by the Belmont Primary School Choir
December 10, 2023 The annual Christmas Carol concert given by the Hogarth Singers will also feature the children of the choir of Belmont Primary School. Both choirs will perform a range of traditional favourites and new pieces. There will be opportunities for the audience to join the festive singing in a performance directed by Rupert Gill. The concert takes place on Saturday 16 December, at 6pm, at the choirs usual concert venue, St Michael and All Angels Church on Bath Road. Tickets are £12 to include mince pies and refreshments, and entry is free for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased in advance on the Hogarth Singers web site. Hogarth Singers evolved from a choir set up at IBM called The Meistersingers in the early 1980s. It is a registered charity which has the aim of promoting a love of choral music and developing public education in the art and science of music in all its aspects by presenting public concerts and recitals. Membership ranges between 50 – 60 people and it sings a wide range of choral music, both sacred and secular. Three concerts are staged each year but the group also organises other activities which enable the choir to sing in a new setting and to enjoy some more sociable experiences not always involving singing.
