Jonathan Wikeley's arrival has been welcomed by choir members
Chiswick-based choir The Hogarth Singers has appointed Jonathan Wikeley as their Musical Director at start of the summer term 2010. Following a six month search, he succeeds David Bray. Jonathan's enthusiasm and musicianship was immediately recognised and his appointment has been widely welcomed by choir members. Jonathan has extensive experience of choral music and directing choirs. He is currently director of music at St Mary’s Church, Battersea, musical director of the semi-professional ensemble the Tamesis Consort, and is co-director of the Rhinegold Singers, winners of the Office Choir of the Year Competition 2010. He is also editor of Early Music Today and International Piano magazines, a freelance journalist and a contributor to artsdesk.com. The Hogarth Singers’ Summer Concert will be held on 26 June 2010 at 7.30pm at St Michael's Church, Elmwood Road, Chiswick W4. The programme will include Mozart's Coronation Mass (Mass in C), John Rutter's Requiem, and Mozart's solo soprano motet, "Exsultate, jubilate".
