Lizzy Parks blends the female singer-songwriter tradition with influences from the cutting edge of Björk to the jazz melodies of Ella Fitzgerald. Her debut album for the Tru Thoughts label (produced by Nostalgia 77) was released in 2008, entitled "Raise The Roof." In 2009, she took her talent in a new direction with an acoustic album, "This and That" - which saw her exploring new terrain, dipping into the worlds of folk, jazz and soul with her characteristic charm and lightness of touch. She brings with her to the George IV a stellar line-up, consisting of Kaz Simmons (guitar and vocals), Fulvio Sigutra (an exceptional trumpet/flugal talent from Italy), Riaan Vosloo (double bass, also of The Twelves Trio and Nostalgia 77) and John Blease (percussion). www.lizzyparks.com
