Dukes Meadows Trust need help planting a variety of fruit trees in the orchard on the Plateau on Sunday 9 March from 11 am.

The orchard was established 10 years ago and contains over 150 apple, pear, plum, cherry, quince and almond trees. Sunday’s planting is to fill gaps, where trees have been lost to drought and accidental damage. Last autumn a meadow was sewn around the trees. The aim is to make the park more bio diverse, and beautiful.

All ages are welcome, children under 14 need to be accompanied by an adult. No experience is necessary as guidance will be provided and 'old hand's will be available to give advice.

Please wear warm clothes suitable for working and sturdy footwear.  All tools will be provided. Meet in the car park of the Dukes Meadows Community Centre, beside the farmer's market at 11am or come and find everyone in the orchard on the Plateau, beside the river.
