Cllr Paul Lynch officially opens replacement to leaking 1950s Nissen hut
The Chiswick Horticultural Society were delighted to welcome Hounslow Mayor and CHS Vice-President Paul Lynch to their grand opening ceremony and Christmas Party on Sunday 20 December when he cut the red ribbon and declared the CHS New Trading Centre (affectionately called “The Hut” by the CHS Members) officially open. The New Trading Centre has been planned over several years replacing an old leaking Nissen hut from the 1950s (seen in background left) the money for which has been raised from old and current members, corporate sponsorship and fund-raising events. CHS Chairman Rosemary Day told ChiswickW4.com, “I am delighted that we have finally been able to achieve our objective in getting a decent, watertight and warm Centre built to serve the Members of the CHS and other members of the local community and where we will hold our seasonal shows of fruit, flowers and vegetables and other fun events. "We are thrilled that Mayor Paul Lynch and Councillor Felicity Barwood were able to attend the opening ceremony today” For more information about the Chiswick Horticultural Society, please see www.chsw4.org.
