Free webinar will be presented by Keith le Page
Chiswick Pier Trust (CPT) is hosting a free, live and online talk via zoom on the British artist Sir Stanley Spencer (1891-1959) at 7pm on Tuesday 15 February. The talk will focus on his life and work and connections with the River Thames. The 40-minute talk will be presented by Keith Le Page from Stanley Spencer Gallery. All are welcome to join the talk and you can book your free tickets online or visit the Trust's web site to see the future programme of free ‘Talks by the Thames’. Donations to the trust are welcomed. This is the first in the series of talks The Trust is in the process of putting together for 2022, which will continue to be delivered as webinars. The annual season of 'Talks by the Thames' aim to highlight the history, wildlife and ecology of the Thames. Although pre-covid its talks have been held in person in the Pier House it was found that webinars had a number of advantages including reaching a larger and wider audience than possible in the hall, and being able to record them so that they can be made available for the first time on the website. The Chiswick Pier Trust runs the Chiswick Pier and Pier House. In this role it manages the commercial and residential moorings at the Pier, as well as venue and conference hire at Pier House. The trust works to engage people with the River Thames. It provides access to the Thames and support major river events, as well as organising events of its own. For further information on the Pier check the Chiswick Pier Trust's web site.
