Gardens still open but cafe and playground closed

The Camellia Festival in the Conservatory at Chiswick House & Gardens has been closed from today (19 March ) due to the ongoing COVID-19 emergency. The House will not open until the end of May.
The cafe is now closed as is the playground.
The Director of the CHGT, Xanthe Arvanitakis, has issued a statement: "During these unprecedented times we want Chiswick House & Gardens to be a place where you can come, enjoy the space, the gardens and wildlife. Our Gardens will remain open and with 65 acres of grounds we are confident that our visitors will be able to keep safe distances from other visitors, staff and volunteers.
"Our diligent Gardens team are continuing with seasonal maintenance, litter collection and planting, working at safe distances from visitors and each other.
"The Kitchen Garden is a hive of activity with planting for the coming months and our Estates team continue to care for the wildlife. Please help us to keep our Lake and grounds clean by not feeding our wildlife.
"Unfortunately, we have had to make the very hard decision to close the Conservatory and Camellia Show from Thursday 19 March. We will also be delaying the opening of the House, itself, until May 31.
"Our dedicated events team are in contact with all our event partners and clients and working to find solutions for them all. As soon as we have any confirmed information, we will share it via our website and social media.

The Gardens will remain open from 7am until 7pm (8pm from April)
The Conservatory & House will be closed until 31 May
All our free and paid tours are cancelled until 31 May – our team will be in touch if you have a paid tour booked
"We ask all visitors to protect themselves and others by following the Government guidelines on social distancing and most importantly we ask that if you are sick or showing any of the symptoms that you postpone your visit – this will help us to protect other visitors. Please follow the recommendations of the Government and NHS.
