Transport seems likely to dominate proceedings at next meeting
The agenda has been published for the next meeting of the Chiswick Area Forum which is now due to take place on Tuesday 22 November. This meeting was originally scheduled for September but was cancelled due to the death of the Queen. The main meeting, which begins at 7.30pm at Chiswick Town Hall, looks set to be dominated by transport matters. Items on the agenda including an update from Jefferson Nwokeoma, Hounslow's assistant director for traffic, transport and parking, covering C9, the South Chiswick Liveable Neighbourhood Scheme, the East Chiswick CPZ and the A4 roadworks plus questions. In addition there will be details of the forthcoming programme of works to be undertaken by Hounslow Highways and consideration of a petition about the A4 at Sutton Court Road. The meeting, which will be chaired by Cllr Ron Mushiso, will also have an open forum for residents to raise issues of concern. Cllr Mushiso said, “We all accept that it was right to postpone the September 2022 Chiswick Area Forum to observe the mourning period for our late Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II. “It means that we have had to rethink the new agenda to reflect the new priorities for our residents. We will start slightly earlier, to give our stall holders more time to engage with residents. The big agenda items such as Traffic and Hounslow Highways from September’s Forum will be brought forward to this meeting. “Above all, we will stick to our promise, to
offer an inclusive platform for our residents to Prior to the meeting, starting at 6.30pm, there will be an informal networking event also at the Town Hall. There will be stalls about council services and other local organisations plus an opportunity to chat to councillors with tea and coffee served. To ensure sufficient catering and other service provision, members of the public are asked to reserve their place for the informal section of the meeting by using the Eventbrite booking system. It is not necessary to book if you are only intending to be present for the main meeting starting at 7.30pm. The next Chiswick Area Forum meeting is currently scheduled for 7 February.
