There will be no House Festival 2009 according to a spokesperson for the Soho House group who told ChiswickW4.com, "The success of the previous House Festivals has contributed to the goal of raising £12million for English Heritage and Chiswick House and Gardens Trust to fully restore the park and gardens to their former glory.

"The landscape restoration works at Chiswick House are now in full swing throughout the park. This therefore makes it impossible to access the area for the event and so, regrettably, we will not be able to hold House Festival 2009."

She added, "The works are due to be completed in spring 2010 so we are hopeful the Festival can return that summer to celebrate its completion."

Held in the grounds of Chiswick House, last year’s festival lineup included a surprise set from The Hoosiers, an outstanding acoustic set from The Kooks as well as Tom Baxter, Sophie Ellis Bextor, a great comeback from Will Young, a truly fantastic set from The Sugarbabes with a fitting finale provided by The Feeling.

Celeb spotting revealed that Kylie Minogue, James May and Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen were among the revealers as were Anneka Rice, Matthew Wright, Angus Deayton and Jamie Theakston.

Funds raised from the 2007 and 2008 festivals went towards Chiswick House & Gardens Restoration Project.
