Local author's first children's book on the healing power of animals
Local author/poet Tony Inwood, has written his first children's book, using his love of dogs and deep Christian faith as inspiration. 'Tails of Moses'; is a new children's story about a puppy, who has been abandoned in a basket. A kindly widow takes him in, and they share a wonderful life together. Sadly, the widow then dies and Moses is abandoned yet again. After that he is badly treated and limps off into the desert and meets a mystery man, who becomes his healer. Tony, who was brought up in a children's home in the 1960s, has always had a great love of dogs and has two of his own. There were several at the children's home, one of whom mated accidentally and produced a lovely litter of puppies. This gave much in the way of joy and excitement to the children there. He thinks that animals, and dogs in particular, have a wonderful healing effect and this can be especially so for children. He said, 'This is the sort of book I would have loved to read as a small boy'; and he hopes his book will make a real impact on young children. Amongst the readers who have given feedback on this book there was one comment that particularly resonated with Tony. They said that he had 'brought emotional depth to the dog's experiences'. Tony published a book of poetry 'A Day at the Zoo'; some years ago and he is also known as the Chiswick Poet. 'Tails of Moses'; is available on Amazon at £5.99. September 6, 2019 |
