Diane Chandler's Only Human set to be published soon
Chiswick based author Diane Chandler is about to publish her third book, Only Human, and her home town features significantly in the story. It tells of tiger mum, Anna Bond, who has her certainties shattered when she discovers her husband of twenty years has had an affair. After her teenage daughter brings her first boyfriend home, Anna's life is turned upside down. She flounders her way through parenting a tricky teen and her own secret affair. The novel delves into themes such as adultery, parent-teenager relationships, entrepreneurship and dementia. The book, which has been long-listed for the Not the Booker Prize, is due to be published on 8 September with the Kindle version available to pre-order for just 99p. Diane Chandler worked first as a political lobbyist in Brussels. Then at the European Commission, where she managed overseas aid programmes in Ukraine just after the fall of communism. Ukraine became the subject for her prize-winning first novel, The Road to Donetsk. She is the presenter of the Chiswick Buzz TV BookClub – Words With Wine in W4. Her second novel, Moondance, received wide acclaim from the IVF/infertility medical press and the book blogger reading community. Her publisher says Only Human will appeal to readers who enjoy intelligent women’s fiction like Apple Tree Yard by Louise Doughty and Lies, Lies Lies by Adele Parks. August 30, 2020 |
