Riverside walkers discover body floating in the Thames

The body of a man was retrieved from the Thames last Sunday morning (3rd October) after two passersby spotted him floating in the river. They held onto the body with the help of a rower who came past the scene and secured it until the police arrived.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the police say that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

The victim has not yet been formally identified and his next of kin have not been informed.
