New Year Resolution To Fix Chiswick Streets | ||||
Team IRIS urges residents to sign up for app to report problems
Team IRIS (Identify and Report Irrelevant Signage) is issuing a plea to Chiswick residents to 'Fix Our Streets' in January 2022. The group would like residents to make a New Year resolution to act and sign up for the app to report street clutter and other unnecessary blights on the local area. "Since launching the campaign in October we have made over 100 reports of abandoned signage, barriers and bollards in Chiswick, Barnes and nearby", says Tim Mack of Team IRIS. "Our plea is that Chiswick W4 followers sign up to the Fix My Street App and each make one report in January. Hounslow Highways have been very responsive to the reports and we thank them for that but abandoned signage is being left all over the place and especially after major works. "We know that 'rubbish attracts rubbish' and the quicker it is removed the less other rubbish will be left there". The group are hoping that once fellow residents make one report they will go on to make more. Tim says, "We will be updating the next Chiswick Area Forum (January 18 7pm at Chiswick Town Hall) but it is fair to say the 'surge in signage' is getting much worse despite our many reports and we need help!"
