Take the Steam Train from Chiswick to Canterbury

Locomotive Oliver Cromwell to make luncheon trip to cathedral city

The Cathedrals Express will be coming to Chiswick to take locals on a steam hauled Sunday Luncheon trip to Canterbury.

On Sunday 28 September, the train, which is scheduled to be hauled by Britannia Class steam locomotive, 70013 Oliver Cromwell, will start its journey from Chiswick at 9.50am, making its way through the Kent countryside to the ancient cathedral city.

Passengers will have over three hours to explore Canterbury, with its world famous buildings, including the magnificent Cathedral which dates back to AD 587. The medieval city centre has many independent boutiques and specialist shops to explore, or passengers may wish to take a boat tour up The River Stour. They will re-join The Cathedrals Express at 4pm, for a return journey along the North Kent Coast, returning to Chiswick at around 7.30pm.

For this trip to Canterbury on board The Cathedrals Express, passengers have an opportunity to travel in four classes ranging from Premium Standard at £99 where they are seated at tables for four, with white tablecloths and complimentary tea and coffee at their seats, right up to Pullman Style Dining at £239 where they enjoy a full lunch on the outward journey and a high tea on the return.

The Cathedrals Express will also be picking up passengers from Hounslow, Putney, and Clapham Junction before heading to Canterbury.
