Domino's Pizza To Remove Rubbish Dumped Behind Takeaway |
Action to be taken after we raised the matter following local complaints Domino's Pizza has promised to tackle the problem of rubbish bags dumped on the street behind its takeaway premises on the corner of Chiswick High Road and Cranbrook Road and will install a trade bin for waste, following complaints. A spokesperson for Domino's Head Office also apologised for the rubbish, which was first brought to the attention of chiswickw4.com by a local resident. The resident said that he had tried to raise the matter with the company but had no response or acknowledgement of the complaint which was "disappointing". He believed it could be a health hazard and attract foxes and rodents. He also complained about delivery drivers smoking and leaving cigarette butts behind. Following his complaint chiswickw4.com raised the matter with the Head Office for the pizza delivery chain. A spokesperson for Domino's said: “Upon receiving the complaint our store manager promptly called to apologise and put things right. We have spoken to our waste delivery service to resolve this and rubbish will now be stored in a locked shed overnight with immediate effect. "Smoking is not allowed whilst on duty unless team members are on an authorised break, one at a time, and must always use an ashtray, so we have taken the opportunity to remind our colleagues of this and apologise for any inconvenience caused.” The pizza delivery company had moved its base from further along the High Road to the premises vacated by a Thai restaurant at 95 Chiswick High Road, which closed last year.
