Forthcoming significant roadworks in the W4 area
M4/A4 Roadworks Work to repair the Cromwell Road Rail Bridge between Hogarth and Chiswick Roundabout has been suspended until early February when there will be two full weekend closures eastbound which will include the M4 up to Junction 2. These were originally scheduled for the first two weekends in January but have now been postponed due to rail strikes. M4 Flyover Works From Monday 6 February to Sunday 12 February, the A4 will be closed overnight in both directions (10pm to 5am) between the B455 and the junction with Clayponds Avenue and Clayponds Lane. A signed diversion will be in place in both directions via the B455 and A315 and A205 Chiswick Roundabout. Once this set-up work is complete work will start on the flyover during the day between 7.30am and 5.30pm. During this time, the A4 will be down to 2 lanes between Boston Manor Road and Brook Lane North and again between Ealing Road and Lionel Road North with a 30mph speed limit in place. Some pedestrian crossing points will also be closed. The nearest alternative crossing will be signposted. It is hoped that this work will be finished by late April at which point overnight closures of the A4 will resume to clear the site. National Highways says it hopes to confirm exact dates nearer the time.
