Liberal Democrats Holding New Survey on Fisher's Lane
Want residents of Southfield ward to give their views on restrictions

Liberal Democrat councillors in Southfield ward are asking residents to complete another survey on Ealing Council’s access restrictions at Fisher’s Lane.
The short survey aims to collate the views of residents of the ward as to whether they want to see a CPZ style vote on whether to remove or retain the Fisher’s Lane scheme.
Ealing Council have removed most of the Low Traffic Neighbourhood schemes (LTNs) launched in the borough during lockdown after a consultation showed significant opposition for residents in the area. However, they are proposing to make the Fisher’s Lane scheme permanent without holding a similar exercise to measure resident opinion.
The council argue that previous surveys showed significant opposition to the closure because they were undertaken when Turnham Green Terrace was also closed and the traffic in the area was considerably worse. They claim the restrictions have become more popular as people have adapted to them. The explanation for not consulting in the same way as for the LTNs is that the restrictions on Fisher’s Lane form a key part of a cycle route between East Acton and Chiswick.
The Liberal Democrats have ‘called in’ of the Fisher’s Lane decision by Ealing Council and it will be reviewed at the Council’s Overview & Scrutiny Committee meeting on 21 October.

I want Ealing Council to listen to its residents. Ealing’s Labour run Council has not consulted residents so the Liberal Democrats are doing what the Council should have done.
