Night Time Road Closures Planned Near Kew Bridge
Resurfacing work taking place for Cycleway 9 project
There are to be a number of night time road closures around the northern end of Kew Bridge to allow resurfacing work to take place.
The works are part of the Cycleway 9 project which started in December 2019 but was put on hold by Transport for London (TfL) during the pandemic.
The work will take place from 8pm to 6pm from Sunday 9 August to Tuesday 11 August.
On Sunday 9 August TfL will be working in the A205 (Chiswick High Road) southbound and it will not be possible to cross Kew Bridge southbound if you are coming from Chiswick Roundabout, or to access Chiswick Roundabout from Brentford. You will still be able to turn left after crossing the bridge northbound
On Monday 10 August they plan to work on the northbound approach to the junction, and on the westbound A315 (Kew Bridge Road). It will not be possible to cross the bridge northbound, or access Chiswick Roundabout from Brentford. You will still be able to cross the bridge southbound coming from Chiswick Roundabout.
On Tuesday 11 August they will work on the A315 eastbound, and on the eastbound A205 Chiswick High Road. It will not be possible to access Chiswick Roundabout from Brentford, or to cross the bridge northbound. You will still be able to cross the bridge southbound via a signed diversion route.
Kew Bridge will remain open to pedestrians.
TfL says that no noisy work will take place after 11pm on any day and these working hours have been agreed with Hounslow Council.
They warn drivers to expect delays on the A406 Gunnersbury Avenue (onto Chiswick High Road), the A205 Chiswick High Road, eastbound on the A315 Kew Bridge Road and on Kew Bridge itself. TfL says they will do all it can to keep traffic moving by proactively managing traffic signal timings in the area.
Kew Bridge Station bus stop (Stop X) and Kew Bridge National Rail Station (Stop W) will be closed on all three nights. Routes 237, 267, 391, N9 and N65 will operate with diversions and may experience delays due to the lane reductions listed above.
