Councillor highlights potential danger to the elderly
A Chiswick Councillor is asking for urgent measures to be taken about the build up of leaves on local pavements. John Todd said, "I was alerted by a pensioner attending the pensioners alone for Christmas lunch of how difficult she found walking on pavements where wet and slippery leaves have not been cleared. I have asked London Borough of Hounslow to to remove them as soon as possible." Cllr. Todd has sent us a number of photos of areas where the need for leaf clearance is particularly acute around Beverly Road and Fraser Street. Uncleared leaves on Chiswick pavements Due to the holidays it was not possible to get a statement from Hounslow Council on this matter. Their web site says the following about leaf clearance, "Every year, around November, when leaves have fallen off trees, we undertake a cleansing programme to ensure that roads within the borough are cleared of leaves.
