Two Scarborough RNLI crew members went to the rescue of their colleagues at Chiswick RNLI this Christmas.

Chiswick RNLI has a full-time crew on 12-hour shifts and didn’t have enough people to cover the Christmas period so issued an SOS appeal for crew cover.

two rnli volunteers

Rob Gaunt and Kev Roberts from the Scarborough crew were happy to help out joining the team from 7.30am to 7.30pm on Christmas Eve.

Fortunately, they had no shouts but went onto the river in the station’s E-class lifeboat on exercise.
