Man aged in his sixties found on the foreshore
A body of a man in his sixties has been found on the foreshore near Chiswick Bridge this morning (28 September.) Chiswick RNLI lifeboat was called to the area following a sighting of a person lying apparently unconscious on the foreshore. The lifeboat with a crew of four proceeded to the scene at around 7.17am following a request by London Coastguard.
Police officers were present on the north side of the bridge, and made their way towards the river foreshore immediately downstream of Chiswick Bridge. They had also received a call about a man being found unresponsive on the riverbank. Three lifeboat crew members went ashore with a casualty care aid kit to make an assessment. They were joined by London Fire Brigade and paramedics from London Ambulance Service who then took over. A man, believed to be aged in his sixties, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are not treating it as a suspicious death.
Officers believe they know the man's identity but await formal identification. Next of kin have been informed. September 28, 2015 |
