A consultation by Ealing Council into the operation of the Southfield (Zone R) CPZ has shown overwhelming support for shorter hours of operation.

Parking restrictions current operation from 9am – 6pm Monday to Friday in the small zone around the Southfield Recreation Area. 60% of respondents wanted shorter hours (e.g. an hour in the morning and one in the afternoon). This will mean that residents in this zone will pay a lower price for their permits (£30 less) and also for visitors' vouchers (£1.20 instead of £4.50). 31% of forms sent out to residents were returned.

Councillor Gary Malcolm said: "Zone R residents will saving money throughout the year. In addition it will be cheaper for visitors, for carers or if work is being carried out in the property."

It will require some replacement of current CPZ signs and some legal notices to be placed, so it is likely to be a few months before implementation.

If any residents has questions about the change you can e-mail Cllr Malcolm at gary.malcolm@ealing.gov.uk
