Acton Beautician Scarred Charity Worker

A beautician based on Churchfield Road in Acton has been made to pay over £50,000 after a court found she had scarred a charity worker in a botched procedure.
71-year-old Eleanor Botwright from Hammersmith, who had received an MBE for the work she does in the community, had gone to Nara Simonyan’s salon for laser therapy to remove a line on her face in April 2016.
Her skin failed to heal after the treatment and she was left with scarring around her mouth which she was told would heal after ten days. She subsequently had to buy creams to hide the permanent depigmentation on her face.
The Central London Court agreed with Mrs Botwright’s claim that Nara Simonyan had been negligent and made the beautician pay £12,630 in damages and £40,000 in court costs.
The Daily Mail quotes Judge Heather Boucher as describing Mrs Botwright as a ‘charming’ witness who had in no way sought to exaggerate the damage that Nara Simonyan had done to her. She worked as a community centre manager in Camden and raised over £17million for local causes before retiring in 2019.
Nara Simonyan was approached for comment.
