Local says leak left gushing in Evershed Walk for days
Residents near Evershed Walk in Chiswick have queried the wisdom of allowing water to flow from a pavement leak at a time when water bills are increasing.
One resident contacted ChiswickW4.com with this photo illustrating what he described as possibly 100 gallons a day which has been going “down the drain” since January 19th.
Security barriers which had been put up to protect pedestrians have now been knocked over by vandals, he said.
The resident said he had reported the leak to Thames Water on January 19th.
“ Contractors arrived the following day but left it like this over the weekend – water flowing out and into drain. Seems very odd given that we are told water will become increasingly harder to source and provide, and we should conserve it” he commented.
When contacted by ChiswickW4.com a spokesperson for Thames Water said, "We are sorry for the delay in repairing this leaking pipe. We were notified of this on Friday last week and have an engineer visiting the site today to get this fixed."
